They look interesting, that's for sure, but nothing really beats having a sword, I think.

It's really not safe to get that close to most monsters. At least where I'm from.

They can be poisonous, or have really strong grips, or could bite you and infect you if you get too close... it's just safer to use something where you can hang back.
