What do you think normal means?

Hmm. Bein' the same as most o' the people or things around. Depends a lot on yer frame of reference, I'd say.

I'm not sure it's meant to be taken that literally. There's a difference between abandoning every little change possible, and abandoning change in general. It's probably supposed to be more of a generalization. Like,consider a society whose laws never change to keep up with its people. The old laws dictate what's "normal" but when it doesn't reflect the people's current values, there's conflict. And in order to maintain balance, you've got to do things outside that "normalcy." Like amending the laws. Something from 400 years ago isn't going to apply to today's society, you know? That's just one example.

I s'pose so. But sometimes ya have to change to adapt, regardless of what's normal.
