[remember those funny seashells from a few days ago? well, they're still on the beach. except this time, there is a hobo sitting near them, keeping an eye on them, the lake itself, and on anyone who happens to walk by. he is also pecking at his keyboard very, very slowly.]

[in the sand: "from your world?" then gestures at the shells]

That's right. ... they're fleeing something.

If it's the usual sort of disaster, it may be nothing worth worrying about.

Camp isn't so limited in regard to food sources that a red tide would become dangerous. ... but this is an unusual place.
