[around the church!]

[This is a work of fiction and any resemblance between the characters and persons living or dead is purely coincidental.

On the edge of the church roof, there is a young man walking around]

Heh, I can almost see the hot springs from here.

((Intro post, you know the drill!))

[Oho. LOOKING UP.]

You. On the roof. Can you spare a moment?

When? I am not from the future, if that is what you're asking. I am from a world with a divergent past. The nation you know as Britain fell during the Napoleonic Wars and its monarchy reestablished itself on the America Continent. Upon the death of Queen Elizabeth III, the throne was inherited by Ricardo van Britannia and the Holy Britannian Empire was founded.

How did Britain manage to fail so bad?

The monarchy was strong and unbending, and its people ungrateful. They orchestrated their own downfall. Their loss at Trafalgar due to an ineffective naval fleet cleared Napoleon's way and a militia of revolutionaries paved his path by capturing the Queen and demanding her abdication.

Yeah, I didn't get any of that.

Hmn. What matters is not their failure, but Britannia's success in building itself from their ashes. That nation is a mere shell of what it could be.
