[ITP: BAKING A CAKE]

I know I said I'd pay you back for helping me that one time, but we're not doing ANYTHING until you put that salt shaker down.

Salt? It's not Sugar?

No, it's not. Miss Monika, I'm terribly sorry for Teito's utter inability at anything to do with the kitchen.

Oh! Are you all baking something?

Well, I guess if you weren't familiar with the ingredients you wouldn't know what not to grab... It's a good thing they're labeled, though!

But honestly, who would put garlic powder in a cake? Honestly, I have to keep an eye on him the whole time he's in the kitchen ...

Someone that doesn't have a lot of experience with garlic powder or cake, I guess! But I'm sure that as long as he has someone to watch, it will be okay! The cookies he made while I was watching didn't turn out too badly, and I'm not sure if someone was keeping an eye on him for it, but the cake he baked me for White Day was all right too.

Trust me, we're definitely keeping an eye on him -- he's got everything collected at this point, so we're probably safe ...

White Day?

[nodding to the first part, and... w-whoops]

Oh! White Day is a holiday from my world! There's more to it, but the basic idea is that people, boys usually, give presents or sweets to their friends or the person they like.

Is that so? So it's something like Valentine's Day, then -- it sounds like a nice tradition.

[c-crisis averted \o/;;]

Yeah! In my world, it happens a month after Valentine's Day, so that the boys have a chance to give something back to the girls that gave them something on Valentine's Day. It's fun!

[I will find out someday, you know]

Hmm, so only girls give things out on Valentine's Day? That seems like a fairly peculiar twist to the tradition.

[but I might not be the one telling you on that day! \o/]

Is it different where you're from? It's always been that way in the place I live back home.

[hmmmmph]

It's a general holiday -- not specific to girls or anything.

[:D]

Huh! Yeah, we have it split up with Valentine's Day for girls and White Day for boys. Strange that it's different! Maybe it's just because it's what I'm used to, but is seems like it would be a really busy day if it was for everyone all at once...

It's traditionally very busy, yes. It's a good day for weddings at our church, especially.

Aww, really? That's sort of sweet, but it makes sense! And I wouldn't know about something as big as weddings, but it's definitely a day people at school like to get together too. It's just the atmosphere of the day, I guess!

I'm not yet authorized to perform weddings yet, but I've seen a number of them come through our church -- they're very common on Valentine's.

Yeah, that's not a surprise! Oh! Right, you and Teito are the same thing at your church, aren't you? What is it that you two do, anyway? I don't think I've ever asked Teito!
