Well, Miss Seth, shall we?

((Cain and Seth's much belated date! Feel free to stalk.))

[WTF, my mother-figure is on a date? WTF. Stalking, definitely. And dotting so hard that it actually comes up in the keywords.]

We are not in the Empire, milady. At the risk of sounding... insubordinate, should the Empire's... rules be observed so strictly here?

There is a reason for them.

...Milady. If... we are to be working towards peaceful coexistence with the Terran, and if we are successful, in time those rules may become more difficult to uphold. If this is the case, it is unlikely the isolation we've known and enjoyed for so long will be able to endure. Likewise, can that peace endure with such caveats in place?

The taboo on Methuselah-Terran physical relations is not...ah...politically based.

If it were, we'd have less of a problem overcoming the caveats you spoke of.

The fact that they persecute us, hunt us, and call us vampire should be enough to make overcoming caveats difficult.

What are the true reasons, then?

Which is processed from donated Terran blood.

It should be irrelevant here, anyway. There are consequences for trying to break the no-sex rule, if I remember right.

Yes, there are.

Regarding whether or not people would react well to your having a Terran consort, milady... time passes so differently for them. Their lives are fleeting, and whenever we do leave this place, we will never see any of them, ever again.

If... if you enjoy his company, then you should enjoy it while you can.
