[Outside the mess hall, just as the sun begins to set, there's a Nobody who has, it seemed, managed to find an old-fashioned ice cream churn. Every so often, he pauses to check the thickening pale blue cream inside, adding salt not only to the ice around the central container, but to the ice cream itself]

There. That should about do it.

Yes. You have a good eye; it's sea salt ice cream

Ahh, maybe not all that good, just a lucky guess. I've actually never tried sea salt ice cream before, though I've heard about it... What's all the buzz about--what's the difference?

Most of the interest lies in the combination of flavours -- there is a delicate balance between them, so the ice cream remains salty while still being sweet.

Huh... Kinda like kettle corn, I guess. Sounds really interesting! Mind if I try some?

Kettle corn?

If you'd like. You will need to fetch a bowl and spoon, though.

Yeah, it's popcorn that's both salty and sweet. I think they used to make it in a kettle, thus the name. I've only had the microwave kind, though!

Ooh, okay, thanks! *goes and returns--this takes no time at all when ice cream is involved~*

Interesting.

We've spoken before, but not been introduced. My name is Zexion -- may I ask yours?

You're right! I'm Brock, nice to meet you, Zexion! I've heard a lot about you, mainly that you're a master chef.

Who told you something like that?

A couple people, all of whom I'm blanking on at the moment, sorry. What, you're not?

The masters here are the ones that spend there time providing for camp in the mess hall. I know some simple home cooking; that's all.

But home cooking is the most important kind! A pan is just a pan, but once it's filled with eggs and butter and the special mix of ingredients that's your favorite omelet--or, the people you care about's favorite omelet--that's what makes that pan a home!

I don't have any pans.
