Right. It's a punishment. But some people seem to turn into things randomly as well. . . at least you know the reason.

Perhaps they just aren't told what they're being punished for.

A rule that we don't know about yet?

I wouldn't be surprised. The Director does not seem to operate under rational thought.

None of the rules really make much sense, do they? Somehow, I think we would have found out about a new one though.

Maybe she just didn't like them for one reason or another.

. . . does she like anyone?

...Well. Perhaps she was particularly offended.

We all have to be careful what he say, then.

Ah, Yukihiro-san -- did you have somewhere to stay while you're like this?

Hmph! She just wants us to live in fear.

[we, even]

I'm not really afraid. It's just something to keep in mind.

Ah. . . good, it's safe then.

Well. It is somewhat unpleasant being an insect, but I'm loath to bend to the Director's will, too.

Are people sometimes shut out of their homes like this?

That's why you tried to escape, isn't it?

Not exactly. But it might have been a problem if there were any pets staying in your cabin.

I certainly wasn't going to escape without everyone else who wanted to.

I don't know of any... I should be fine.

-- You found a way that everyone could leave?

I'm glad -- it may be safer to stay in the cabin for now.
