I think I may have a lead on some important research!

I've never heard of that spell. Tell me about it, if you don't mind.

It's one of the spells I can cast. It lowers the target's ability to attack, and the more times I cast it on the same target, the stronger it gets.

That's a pretty awesome-sounding spell! I should try and learn that!

Can you learn spells like that? It just...came to me one day.

No, I have to study them.

It just...came to you?

Yes, I worked to teach myself Burning and Charged Parasols, but my magic...well, when I keep on training and using my spells, they get stronger on their own, or I somehow find myself able to cast new ones. Go, RPG logic, go!

So you don't have to learn chaos words or any of that stuff?

What are chaos words?

Chaos words are what I use to construct and cast spells--they're special words of power.

For example "Darkness beyond twilight, crimson beyond blood that flows" describes Lord Ruby-Eye Shabranigdo and calls on his power.

The power I use for spellcasting comes out of me. I just call out the name of what I'm trying to cast.

...this is so unfair.

Lina, what's the matter?

In my world you have to study and practice for years to master magic!

In my world, it's innate, and your spells evolve and grow over time!

Reply

boomtoday September 11 2007, 18:29:32 UTC
Well it is true on my world that you have to be born with an innate magical ability to even use magic, and even then you may not be able to use very powerful spells.
