So. It seems like about once a month, we come up with some kind of reason to need a PSA about clones. This month, we have a new clone camper, and it's probably hard to be a new clone camper, so let's help out. I'm not actually very good at the clone PSAs, so everybody's gonna have to forgive me for borrowing from someone else. I doubt he'd mind.

...That's not to say that the clone is you -- of course there will be differences, due to the way your upbringing has differed. Your clone probably has less real-world experience and may clumsy in the use of their superpowers and human interactions at first. They may share some of your memories, depending on the creation process, and may even be conditioned to believe they are you. That's hardly the clone's fault though, is it? Which leads me to point number two:

Clones have just as much right to exist as you do. Most of your hostility towards your clone probably stems from negative past experiences or the fear that they are out to replace you. Few clones cope well with the fact that they are clones at first -- and really, can you blame us given your media representation of us? Thanks for nothing, Lucas -- and may cling to the original identity. Be gentle with them, k? Helping your clone establish a seperate identity is crucial during this early phase. Celebrate your differences ('Hey, you like green? I like blue. Awesome!'). Remember, from the point of view of a clone without actual friends, family, etc, you are the only family they have. However you choose to react to your clone is probably going to be the SINGLE BIGGEST FACTOR IN YOUR CLONE'S ATTITUDE TO LIFE, MORAL OUTLOOK, AND WHETHER OR NOT THEY TRY TO ELIMINATE YOU. No pressure.

That might seem familiar to some of you. If it's hard for you to think of yourself as having a clone, just pretend it's about a friend's clone. I'm pretty sure the message is still similar. That being, clone does not equal you. Or your friend. And it's really important to remember that. Also, it's hard. So be nice.

In other news, thanks for asking, but seriously? I'm fine. Just kinda tired. So we don't have to cover that one any more.

And the revolution can stay the hell away from me. That is all.

[locked against Thirteen]
In case anyone missed it, here's a simple way to read this:
We are talking about: Thirteen
Who is not: Kon
He is a clone is of: Superman
He thinks he will be: Superman
You should not be treating him like: Kon
Things determined by how you treat him: His attitude to life, moral outlook, and whether or not Buffy rips out your spleen and beats you to death with it.

Clear?
