i know. it is a travesty. they also come in citrus green, sunset orange, and a weird blue-gray tone seldom seen outside of a Hanes pullover sweatershirt.
you know i can forgive the white version. and if you are a nurse, i say wear whatever you want for the good work you do. I don't condone the white version, but i feel no need to submit vituperative diatribes to internet shoe stores because of them. but when we start playing Demonized Vincent Van Gogh with inappropriately named 'Classic' footwear, and producing Frankenstein-esque offspring known as 'Sunset Orange' and 'Flash Red' and 'Citra' colored eyesores, then I start to take arms against a sea of troubles.
you know, it's funny you should mention that, because i've always been baffled by that statement. i understand that the hindenburg was a terrible tragedy, and a terrible thing to see in person, but who yells out 'oh the humanity' when they see something like that? What does that even mean? And that poor guy who screamed it out, never knowing how famous a line it would become, i wonder if, in later years, he was like, yeah, you know, i kinda wish i hadn't said that.
i understand its kind of an antiquated term and maybe it was that decade's version of 'what the...' etc.
:-) there is nothing better in this world than new shoes. An end to crime and violence, curing of pestilence and poverty? sure. but until then, new shoes are the bee's knees.
