Jt Jt JT.... The whole POINT of the movie was that they didn't kill anyone. It's supposed to mean that he was there and wasted that much of his life on being a jarhead for NOTHING> It's called political commentary lol That's also why the kid from slingblade was making all the anti-military anti-war commentary, and the one guy was talking about how outdated snipers were becuase by the time they had their scopes set the war was a mile down the road. it boils down to this. Modern wars are diffrent from past wars. soldier to soldier is obsolete, and therefore jarheads are of little use. the human aspect of war is slowly being phased out of indirrect contact through "Zoomies" as they called them in the film. So all that is left is the temoil experianced internally by the soldier rather than the life or death physicallity of war.
and btw

OK...Jarhead was not an awesome movie. I'm cool with making a movie about a war where the people in the movie didn't kill anyone (it's a stupid idea, but hey...it's a free country). What I'm not cool with is advertising the movie like it's a war movie, because it's not. Advertise it for what it is...a military chick flick. Seriously...I felt like I was watching "A Walk to Remember" - Marine version. I really really hated this movie...it totally sucked and I don't understand how you could have possibly liked it. I'll grant you that war has changed a lot, but infantry units and snipers are still vital to military success. And I'll also admit that Dessert Storm was a sorry excuse for a war, because the Iraqi's were pussies (they surrendered to news crews). But nonetheless, to make a movie that documents the military service of a marine who never of the U.S. military serve their cousaw any action and ALMOST record 1 confirmed kill is pointless. The men and women of the U.S. Marine Corps serve their country, whether they kill anyone or not ( ... )
