Oh, I've got no problems disagreeing with someone. *g* I'm very nostalgic when it comes to Disney movies from the late 80s/early 90s - that's when I grew up with them.
As I'm not American I didn't really care about historical inaccuracies (as you've mentioned, Anastacia is even extremer - and I still liked it, because it has some of the best VAs we've got/had!) and I liked how they played that Pocahontas/John romance - that first meeting was magical.
I was okay with Smith, although I kind of forget about him after watching the movie. *g* He's just... there. But contrary to your version our VAs for Smith and Ratcliff are very good (we also don't have to bother with accents *g*), especially Ratcliff! He's voiced by one of my favourite VAs of all time (he was also Sebastian in The Little Mermaid, Lumiére, yes Rasputin^^, Jafar, Rafiki...). <3 What i wanted to say: For me it was easier to take him seriously, although he really dresses kind of strange. And that's why the songs also stick more with me. Although Disney had better songs

Oh yes, we've got some great VAs over here (but yes, you've got the originals, that's quite awesome, too^^). It's always funny to see which actors have the same VA (they change that in animated movies most of the time, though) - Christian Bale and Johnny Depp for example. *g* What is also very surprising: They tend to use comedians as VAs in animated movies and they're always incredibly awesome. Dug in Up, I didn't even recognise that guy, it was that great! And cute! Okay, that perhaps was the dog alone, but stil... *g*
Yes, that's probably just nitpicking for nitpicking's sake. A stupid complaint when - as you've shown - it's easy to find other things.^^
Very interesting write-up, again! I can't really have an informed opinion about the inaccuracy of the history either, except that I know that it was. Originally, I liked that it was set in a specific historical time period even though I knew that it wasn't a good representation of it. Also, it was at about this point in my life that I became aware that heroes have American accents and villains have English accents.
There are some really beautifully-composed shots, most of which you posted...
This shot could be seen as an illustrated representation of Christian's and Mel Gibson's current careers.
Ooh, burn. :-D
It was most likely created by the same company that does cheap knockoffs of Disney/Pixar movies, and then people who don't know any better buy them.
Why do they do that? Or rather, why do people buy them? That's up there with telemarketing on the list of Money-Making Schemes that Should be Wildly Unsuccessful.

The nose.. uhm, I never thought about that. It's a common device, just showing that she's got a small nose. *sigh*
I only brought that up because I saw people complaining for some reason. It just struck me as stupid nitpicking just to nitpick.
And perhaps Thomas' uneven collar shows that it's an old one and he doesn't have anything else? Don't know.
I assume that's why, also. It was just a little something I noticed. Maybe I should just delete that question then.

Heh. All English people are villainous and/or snobbish, didn't you know?

What others do you like?

Hey, I call 'em like I see 'em.
Why do they do that? Or rather, why do people buy them?
They probably think like a lot of people do, in that "If it's a cartoon, it's Disney."
