Sam's place, Boulder - Saturday

Apr 04, 2009 14:57

It was snowing again when Cameron had woken up and it seemed like the perfect day to just stay the hell indoors. After a quick shower (and checking for that rash just to be sure, even if they had cleared everyone except for Siler who was still in the informary), he headed for the kitchen and stopped when he noticed Sam in the living room ( Read more... )

Sam yawned, covering her mouth, then ran a hand through her hair so it was sticking up even more than usual as she blinked at him, squinted out at the sun, then glanced back at him with some confusion.

She remembered getting home and showering, and then she'd meant to go to bed, but she'd checked her e-mail instead and found out about the zombie invasion in Fandom and had possibly spent the rest of the night sketching and trying to build flamethrower prototypes.

Sam had no idea what time it was, but thought it might still be either Friday or Saturday. "Maybe?"

See, this was the problem. Sam hadn't slept yet. If she told Cameron that, though, she thought he'd yell (or lecture, or get his worried face like she couldn't survive on her own), and if she didn't tell him, she'd be lying to him.

"No, of course not. Oh, by the way," she said, covering another yawn, "Fandom's got zombies again."

He would have called her on her bullshit too, if she hadn't just so cleverly distracted him. "Again? Should we go?"

Sam stretched as she came awake, then turned her head on the pillow. She couldn't help smiling over at Cameron.

"So that's one way to get you to sleep," he murmured, finally watching her wake up.

"Beats the heck out of a sleeping pill. Been awake long?" She snuggled against him, moving so her head would be resting on his shoulder.

He was going to take that as a sign that she really wasn't going to hide in the garage now. "Not too long," he said, his arm curling around her shoulder. "I never knew you had a tattoo."
