Oh my god. Have been waiting to discuss this!Have been discussing with felix_aeternus about what may happen in this ep.
I thought that Gwen and brother get kidnapped. Cenred releases Gwen but keeps brother under the promise that Gwen must bring Arthur to them and therefore trapping Arthur. Hence the ep summary stating she must choose between Arthur and Elyan.
Oh should add that as I thought Gwen would not betray Arthur I was slightly freaking out at how this would work out when felix_aeternus sensibly suggested that Gwen doesn't bring Arthur to them but that Merlin finds out and they all go on a rescue mission. Something like that anyway.
I'm spoiler free and wish to remain so! tiny_diskOctober 16 2010, 23:22:33 UTC
I think you're right - I don't think Gwen will betray Arthur! It'd kind of undo everything they've done for the past two and a half seasons! I think they'll go rescue her brother.
Also - I think the trailer's toying with us; I'll bet my tv license (and thereby my ability to watch Merlin legally) that they get interrupted before they kiss!
On second thoughts, I'm not sure I'd want to risk the possibility of missing out on future Merlin, especially since this is a bet I really, really, REALLY want to lose!
But I'm totally spoiler free for the entire of this series and totally love going into each episode blind! It makes a nice change; usually I'm not really watching just waiting for an Arthur/Guinevere moment I've heard may or may not happen.
I hope you're right. I already had in mind that it was Morgana who actually started abusing Guin. I can now see what everyone else is seeing and probably she's being threatened by Cenred to betray Arthur with the life of her brother and she's now stuck between a rock and a hard place. Thank God for Merlin. I know, when I saw this last ep, I felt that Merlin was way too meddlesome (don't worry I agree it's handy---albeit annoying) but in this situation I'm glad he is
( ... )
The trailer just looks great. The kiss (they look *so* beautiful in that scene♥) looks like it's going to surpass all since they seem to finally be on the same page and know there's a future between them now due to Arthur refusing to marry someone else.
I hate that Morgana is tormenting Arthur and Gwen - I wanted there to be some degree of feelings there for people who had been nothing but loyal to her, but everyone is a pawn in her game now.
I want to see Arthur's reaction to the bruises. I imagine he will blow his top to an epic level and all but march off to fight Cendric because of that.
I just can't wait. I hate that poor Gwen is being forced to make such an impossible choice, but I can't wait.
Gah - this season has been so awesome to us already and we haven't even got close to the true epicness of the finale arc yet.
