I just watched this ep recently. Wow. This is very powerful. I never questioned Merlin before this. I could see how he might have been tempted. I love that Sigan shot himself in his own foot.

I agree with the others as well; the imagery is beautiful.

It's so funny. That scene has always reminded me of Star Wars when Luke is tempted to turn to the dark side. It's kind of the language used and just the way it plays out.

I just think Merlin was tempted or weaker in a way after all that had happened with Arthur those past days. And yeah I rewatched this ep before writing it so it was very powerful for me what happened in it.

I think it's some of Colin's best acting and the role of Sigan too was just done so well.

Thanks! ❤

I was just talking to someone else about Star Wars! I haven't watched it recently enough to be able to say anything about it. Clearly, I need to watch it again.

It's definitely new headcanon for me, that he faltered for a moment, but it's so perfect that he didn't succumb because he didn't want Arthur to kneel to him.

For me, I have a really hard time picking Colin's best acting because he's just so (excuse me) fucking amazing.

The guy who played Cedric/Sigan was amazing too.

Exactly!^^^ I love Bradley and he's really come into his own. But Colin's acting is some of the strongest I've ever seen. I started watching the show thinking Arthur would be my favorite, but I adore Merlin too and it's because Colin plays him so well, giving him a variety of emotions.

Oh, I love how you used the episode... I love that moment so much, you can see the moment where Sigan fails so clearly in Merlin's eyes... oh, Colin can act...

Yes, agreed. I've always enjoyed Colin, but in that ep, what he did, wow. He shows it again and again how strong an actor he is.

Loved the descriptions and the imagery of a gold/silver coin together. Loved the last line!

The last line was kind of powerful for me to write. It just felt like it fit and so yay, glad it worked! I've always loved that they're compared to two sides of a coin. It's something I like to incorporate about them into fic.

Thanks! ❤
