This made my heart hurt, but it also made me grin. Life takes us down so many different paths that lead to other ones. I'm glad Merlin and Gwen have one another.

Coming into this scene with this mini-Arthur careening into Merlin made me wonder at the reason for this celebration and I enjoyed reading the history and the tragic story of love and friendship unfold. There's a place for Merlin in this house and Gwen seems happy to talk about their lives with Arthur outside this one hour she sets aside every year.

needless to say I am sobbing rn. Beautiful story. Tragic too. At least they can comfort each other. Echoes canon...he's always been there, hasn't he, at Arhur's side...

Ouch, that was hurty and yet so beautiful. I loved how Merlin and Gwen's friendships prevails and they're able to find the comfort they need in each other.

I liked how Merlin and Gwen didn't really talk about their love for Arthur for so many years and that Merlin finally got up the courage to do it. Very sad and sweet.
