That was really dark. Poor Merlin! If he's set his mind to escaping, though, I've no doubt he'll succeed.

It was almost a lot darker, actually... I had the first couple lines before the prompt came out, and it wasn't going to end well for Merlin. But I couldn't do it, so ambiguously hopeful ending it is!

Is it terrible that I kind of like making people feel bad for Merlin? He's just such a good target for bad things...
