This is terrific. The picture you painted of that unforgiving coastline and the terrible battle Merlin lost was vivid and tragic. There's a deep feeling of loss in both Gaius and Arthur but I was still surprised at Arthur's decision a change was in order. The tree's disappearance give me hope that Merlin was just biding his time, eavesdropping on these men, waiting for this to happen.

Thanks! I was a bit worried about the ending because I rushed it, but I think it turned out okay...maybe because I was operating under those constraints. That's what I love about these challenges, hah.
