I love 'Arthur already knows' stories and this one is really nice. This is a sensible and thoughtful Arthur, who not only knows, but also understands. He might get grouchy in the short term, but he is wise enough to see beyond the immediate. Lovely.

I can see why not being trusted with the truth wears on Arthur but I'm glad he can see Merlin's heart and how much Merlin loves him. That thought should help him endure until Merlin finds the courage to come clean.

I think much of Arthur's grouchy behaviour towards Merlin could have been explained by going the 'Arthur already knows' route.... while the magic reveal we got in the very nick of time was good all thanks to Bradley and Colin, I am still a bit sorry the show didn't choose the alternate route.
