It's great that Arthur has changed tactics. He''s sure to make more progress with Merlin with walks and meals. He's going to have to work to get Merlin interested and it's going to be good for him.
I like that Merlin's still plotting escape, though. He's been kidnapped and he's being held against his will. It would be ridiculous to assume he'd soften up to the Prince with a few walks and a bit of wooing.
Arthur's certainly starting to see the error of his ways, which is good. I do like that you're not having Merlin roll over and accept his situation just because Arthur's being considerate, I think Arthur would have to do something fairly spectacular to change Merlin's mind at least in the short term. The crafty way Merlin has decided to pretend to play along, knowing it's a chance to get away is exactly right for the character. I wonder how Arthur will react when/if he does get away?
