That was lovely, you've definitely got the coffee shop au trope down well. Loved Merlin's dreadful eyesight, especially the bit where he's hoping squinting looks like scrutinizing :)

I didn't know about the coffee shop writing rule but probably should get onto that at some point - but you know with your username and teacup icon (albeit with coffee in!) you maybe should have made it a teashop *g*

Thank you very much! I'm really glad I got the gist of the Coffee!AU down--this is my first time writing one, but I've read a lot of them so I can only hope I got it.

Everyone's telling me that--I thought everyone knew, pfft. I sort of just guessed, considering that I see so many Coffee Shop!AUs in every fandom, I figured it was like the universal, unspoken rule of fanfiction writing. Ah, well, if you do decide to do one, I'd love to read it !

I should've done a tea shop, shouldn't I? Ah, well, too late to change it now. That sounds like a perfect idea for a future fic, though!
