Perhaps it's just me, but I didn't feel like the mood of this was brighter. Poor Arthur, it's not easy to step out of the shadow of a man like Uther. Well done!

Really? Maybe it's just my perspective (or my mood when writing) that made it seem brighter.

Ohhhh, poor Arthur! He really is burdened down, isn't he? Can't wait for more of this 'verse, if you plan on continuing that is. XD

Yep, Arthur is under a lot of pressure and he is feeling it.
I definitely plan to make sure I don't leave this boys hanging. Hopefully the next prompts will fit this 'verse.

Oh, I'm also not sure about how bright is that mood (at least to me, that is). And I don't know if it was your intention, but even though the word "surrender" was used when Arthur dragged himself out of bed, I felt the actual surrender here when he told Merlin to "forget it". I like it.

Definitely not just you... maybe brighter was too strong a term... it's less angsty anyway... isn't it?
I actually intended to use it in another way but word count and doing the 'verse justice got the better of me, so I can understand why you felt it there.
