I love this. It's moving enough for Lancelot to sacrifice himself just out of nobility, but adding all that weight of emotion behind it? So poignant. Lovely.

I really like this! Great job in capturing Lance's emotions and the choices he makes. Loved how aware he is of his own weaknesses and that he knew what he was picking at the end.

Thanks so much. I really liked Lance, even with his flaws. It was pretty clear that he was deeply unhappy but couldn't seem to move past it. Glad it made sense to you.
