Wow, just wow. Your description of Merlin burning at the stake was chilling, and hauntingly realistic. And I'm sure his terror and pain were enough to last over hundreds of years and several lifetimes. One does not recover from trauma like that, ever. His lingering fear is realistic, whatever the cause (although historically accurate). Great job!

Yeah, I figured something like that is gonna haunt you, no matter how many lives you may live. I keep imagining poor Arthur's reaction when he returned home to find Merlin gone. My poor boys, I do love to put them through some trials!
