I love this AU idea. I think Merlin's magic could do wonders in forensics. Lol! Maybe you could make this into a verse? *bats eyes innocently*

Omg! So sweet! Would like to read more to the story if you would care to write some.
I read too many books with cops as characters not to totally love Arthur & Merlin in these roles =P

I do hope to continue this as a verse, so we'll see! And I love media with cops with characters (ngl, totally humming the Law & Order theme song while writing this), and I think these roles are fitting for them both. :)
