I liked how Merlin was at first confident but less and less. I also liked how worried he was about Gaius and Morgana.

Merlin always puts on a brave face, but I think he actually knows how much trouble he's in, even he doesn't know what Aredian is planning.
I try to make Aredian even more menacing and clever than he was in canon, because I thought he had so much potential that they didn't really use. :P
