Just when things were going so swimmingly between Arthur and Merlin, Edwin and Sophia tumbling out of the loos were an unpleasant twist. Poor Merlin, he must be devastated.

I'm sure anyone would be upset in Merlin's situation! But at least he has Arthur to look out for him (and/or punch Edwin in the nose, as the circumstances require).

Actually there was a poll somewhere about what someone considered cheating. Was that you? I can't remember. And some people thought kisses were, and some thought they weren't? At any rate, maybe I'm glad that Arthur didn't kiss him? Though I dearly want them to be happy together!

I really enjoyed their dialog, especially between Merlin and Arthur. It made me happy. I look forward to more! I hope Merlin will not be too hurt by the whole Edwin/Sophia fiasco. :-)

Well, in my mind Arthur's a little drunk and is getting caught up a bit in his own wishful thinking, so possibly not making the wisest decisions rn. That said, this version is the unedited one - the AO3 chapter makes things (hopefully) a bit clearer, I think :)

I vaguely remember seeing that poll around, but I wasn't the one who posted it. But yes, it's a complicated question; that was why I put the interruption where I did.

Thanks! I think this will probably run to 5 parts rather than 4, so there might have to be a double update next week, lol.
