Author’s notes: idk what this is just that I didn’t have much time to write this. Fluffy, modern au, Arthur’s first attempt at cooking.
The soup, when he tastes it, is tasteless. The only thing that he is able to taste is salt. He almost chokes on it, but Arthur is looking with a hopeful, excited twinkle in his and Merlin can’t bring himself to ruin the mood. So he grins and teases Arthur and drinks three bowls of it (three bowls because Arthur went a little overboard and made two much).
It doesn’t escape Arthur’s notice that Merlin pours plenty of lemon juice in each bowl, apparently, because he tells Merlin that next time will put more lemon juice. He even makes a note of it on the little post it notes he likes to stick around his house.
Arthur seems blissfully oblivious until he tastes some for himself. Then he puts all the food away and orders some takeout.
The takeout tastes delicious, especially because of the salty soup that Arthur made him eat, and Merlin eats the food gladly.
Later, he can taste both the soup and the noodles when Arthur’s on top of him, licking into his mouth.
