“You just wait, Merlin. Soon we will be inside of that club with the others,” Gwaine promised Merlin while digging through the pockets of his shorts.
“What makes you think that? Those under the age of 21 are not allowed in.”
Merlin sighed and crouched down against the brick wall of the Camelot & Co. Dance Club. It had been the most popular place chosen for the group to hang out on Saturdays. Merlin and Gwaine, however, have been unable to attend due to the strict age policy forbidding those who were not 21 or over to come in.
The club is said to have somewhat of a medieval theme, with royal decor in the interior of the building that was similar to that of Camelot. Instead of enjoying the experience of the club every Saturday, Merlin and Gwaine were stuck with having to check out the latest movie at the theater down the street.
The two boys, consequently, ended up with great discounts due to being regulars at the theater, which wasn't too bad. Tonight, however, will not be spent watching the most recent horror film.
“Before leaving, Morgana gave me some fake IDs to provide to the man out front,” Gwaine said to his friend, flashing out two plastic cards that held false information about the men.
Merlin looked up at Gwaine, “Are you sure that this will work?”
“Of course!” Gwaine held out his hand and helped Merlin stand back up, “Just imagine, soon we will be able to dance with the others until dawn. I get to drink to my hearts content, and you will be able to woo 'Sir Arthur Pendragon.'”
Merlin pretended not to notice how his cheeks flushed at Arthur's name. He had been obsessed with the man since day two, when he had a chance to get to know him while sitting next to him on the bus ride to the National Zoo with the group. “Aw, leave Arthur out of this.”
“Anyways,” Gwaine said, “We look near the age of 21, so it will be easy trying to get inside.”
“His brow furrowed at that. The two of them were only 19 and freshly graduated out of high school. Merlin still had a bit of a baby face, and Gwaine a bit of an immature attitude-not that the attitude was supposed to go away once one reached their 20s, anyways.
Still, getting into the club had been a goal of theirs for a while, and Merlin had been dying to converse with Arthur, who he only got to see on these group outings due to the fact of not having his number or email yet.
“I guess it won't hurt to try...”
“That's the spirit! Come on, mate, lets go dancing!” Gwaine then led Merlin towards the doors of the club that led to the inside.

“What do you mean you won't let us in?” Gwaine asked in disbelief.
“I'm sorry, uh, Gerald,” The man up front looked at the ID for clarification on the name, “But you and your friend Peter are not allowed in. I don't think you pictures math up to your, er, present day faces.”
The man held up the two ID cards, with pictures of both Merlin and Gwaine from elementary school. Gwaine flushed.
“You two should be on your way, now. I suggest you go to the ice cream parlor down the street, it would make up for all of the trouble you went through to get in,” the man said, a smirk on his face, “I'll see you two when you're of age.”
Gwaine stalked off with his fists clenched, Merlin right behind him with his hands stuffed in his pockets. “I cannot believe that Morgana made a fool of me! How could I have not noticed the cards were faked? I don't deserve this!”
Merlin patted Gwaine's back, “It's alright, maybe next time. Anyways, I'm in the mood for some ice cream. Let's get going before we miss the next showing at the Theater.”
