"Come with me." Lancelot held out his hand.
Merlin couldn’t deny he was tempted. Everything about Lancelot tempted him, from the sound of his voice to the wicked gleam in his eyes but he shook his head and smiled self-consciously before dropping his eyes. "Oh, I don't think that's a good idea."
Lancelot let his hand fall to his side as he moved closer. "Why not?"
Nervous laughter escaped him. "The list is varied and endless."
"Name one."
He raised his eyes to face the handsome knight. That was a mistake. He couldn’t think straight looking into those eyes. "I...uh..." Merlin cleared his throat and tried again. "I...uh..."
A knowing grin spread across Lancelot's face. "I'll make you a bargain." Lancelot stared into Merlin's eyes as he continued. "If you come with me now, I promise I won’t do anything you don’t want me to do.”
Merlin ignored the voice inside of him that was desperately urging him to grab a hold of Lancelot with both hands and take him up on his promise. His brow furrowed. Where was the rest of the bargain? “I think you left out a part.”
A slow smile began to play at the corners of Lancelot’s mouth. “What part would that be?”
He swallowed hard, the sound echoed through the room. “The part where you say if I don’t come with you now, you won’t try to tempt me again.”
Lancelot’s grin widened. “I could never promise that.” Temptation fell with every word as he held out his hand once again and whispered, “Come with me.”
With a sigh Merlin surrendered and slid his hand in Lancelot’s. After all there was only so much temptation he could resist.
