Harry didn’t want to pick up the old-timer. Scraggly beard, clothes that had seen better days, but there was something in the man’s eyes. As if he were at the end of his rope.
Driving him to the Tor didn’t feel right, but the tramp insisted. Gave him a generous tip, too.
But Harry was worried. When Harry dropped him off, the old geezer started shouting at the lake, “Arthur, you clotpole, get back here. Right now.”
No one answered, of course.
Clearly, the man had gone barking mad.
Harry did the only thing he could and called the coppers.
