One day, Merlin and Morgana sat in their backyard, which they had turned into a floral paradise. Well, they thought it was a paradise, others might not. They held hands and talked quietly.
“Do you remember your wedding vows?” Morgana asked him.
“I do,” he replied.
Morgana laughed. “No, not that part. But I get it. You do remember.”
“Of course I remember. It wasn’t all that long ago. I also remember driving Arthur crazy while I memorized them at work.”
“Oh, that’s good.” She held out her fist for a bump and he bumped hers with his.
“I remember promising to love you for eternity, and I meant it. I still do.”
“You’re not going to get bored of me?”
He smiled. “Of course not. We’ve been in love for what, ten years? If it hasn’t happened by now, it won’t ever. I promise.”
“Eternity is a very long time though.”
“And I plan to spend all of it adoring you.”
She leaned her head onto his shoulder. “Thank you.”
“Why are you thanking me?”
“For putting up with my family and all its problems, and for still loving me even when we were apart.”
“Morgana, love, ours is a love meant to last.” He squeezed her hand. “I couldn’t imagine my life without you.”
“Nor could I imagine mine without you.”
He leaned over and pressed his lips to hers for a good, long time. Then they went inside to enjoy each other a little more privately.
