“Come on, Merlin, it’s a tradition to break news to my father at this event.” Arthur laughed, but Merlin heard the nervousness. “The crowd keeps him from freaking out.”
“Are you sure about this?”
“I told him that I’m gay right here ten years ago, told him that I asked you to move in with me two years ago and last year Morgana told him she was pregnant. By the time he’s alone and can start to yell, he calmed down enough.”
Merlin still wasn’t sure that this was the right way to tell Arthur’s father, but he put on his most winning smile when Arthur said “Father, I would like you to meet Merlin, my husband.”
