So i'm sitting here in the Estes Park library, trying to figure out how to sum up my Colorado experience so far. Ahh, summer. I really am falling into a nice pattern of coming home at curfew (midnight, grrr), getting online for an hour or so, and then going to bed for a lovely average of 9 hours of sleep! Well, ISU band camp is OK. The people are really nice, but i definitely miss the musical quality of Symphonic Band. I'm principal horn, and also playing in the solo recital on Thursday night, so that'll be fun. I've already made some contact with Dr. Golemo (the band director) and Bret Seebeck (the horn professor), so those are some good steps ( Read more... )

My mom just brought home a copy of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix that she claims she got at Wal-Mart for $16, about half the list price. Supposedly, there are piles and piles of them... Go forth and devour, if you haven't already!

The leadership clinic was much better than i thought it was going to be. They didn't give the "best and the brightest" speech. Instead, we worked in groups, learned about personalities, and just met people. I'm very excited to know all of these great people who will be at ISU with me.
