Very well written review! Very in-depth, and make me think about a lot of the stuff I missed the first time I watched it. Now I want to try watching the series again. ^_^

Yay! I spent all friggin' day on it, so I'm really happy with how it worked out. ^_^

You should watch it again, especially now as I bought a new copy that has English subs. Unfortunately it's also the version without the '80s music, but at least you'll know what's going on. ^_^

I really do love that the series takes some time to show the relationship between the F4 members, and how they consider themselves brothers, not just friends
^^Perfectly said & exactly my sentiments ^_^

The violence was def a factor I overlooked during my first watching session but now that you've mentioned it, it was probably no less violent than BOF even, in which I thought the violence was quite hideously "play it like it is."

Nice review. I think you considered many points that are often glazed over. I wish Jerry's bad head perm stayed w/ us for longer too xDD

Wow! Thanks so much!

Heh, yeah, I never remember how violent it is either until I watch it again, though I suppose it's not something that can be skimmed over if one wants to stay true to the manga. I've only been able to watch the first two episodes of BOF (series like these I always want to watch as a marathon, but I just haven't had the time lately), but from what I could see, the difference between the two in regards to violence was that BOF was rougher in terms of fighting and more liberal about showing blood.

I really do appreciate the comment. One of the things I was trying to keep in mind while writing this was "what can I say that hasn't already been mentioned by 15 other reviewers?". If someone completely unfamiliar with Hanadan or MG found this as their first review of the series, I wanted it to be useful. ^_^

I'm really happy that I found out about your article series on your own blog, and I hope you don't mind if I follow it. It's really cool to meet people that share this interest. ^_^

^i know, it's near impossible considering the trilogy is loved my so many people!! but i think you managed to keep a pretty refreshing, clear & level-headed perspective :))

i think you're right, the violence in BOF was v. rough, there was blood everywhere for no apparent reason... i mean, at some points, i was wondering if those guys were really that frgaile, bleeding that easily lol i think overall, it was a little excessive & unnecessary. whereas in mg, i didn't really notice it the intensity of the violence the first time around, in a way, for me, it flowed right into the story.

P.S. thanks for checking out my blog! glad to be cyber-friends & fellow mg lovers ^_^
