One could write a whole thesis on how screwed-up Eleven's personal relationships are. D:

Oooh, how did I miss this one? *bookmarks*

I @#&%ing hate The Angels Take Manhattan.

I haven't even re-watched it. There were bits I recall liking about it but it was definitely a "focus on the good details and not the overall mess" for me.

Exactly right - it's a STUPID episode.

I've said it elsewhere, but I'll say it here; I'm floored and humbled by this rec - especially by the fact that it somehow sparked such a deeply felt and enjoyable essay on the nature of our favorite trickster. Thank you so much for your words, and your rec!

I loved this fiction when rutsky wrote it. And I know I will love it again. Eleven Era is one of my favs out of all the Era's and you are correct when you say he is a slippery one!! He hides his darkness and moral wonkiness behind his goofy exterior and really...I think that's one reason why I love this version of the Doctor so much. He is very much the Doctor - and he admits he lies, while he lies to your face. And he uses that youth and silliness as a mask. He always tries to do what's right, but what is right and what is right can be two different things and...I'll get off the soapbox before I start getting to into this.

Perfect rec. Her work is excellent - and her grasp of the Eleventh and the Ponds is gorgeous!

*HUGS*
