Is anybody else dealing with the Southern California wildfires? I got out of San Diego, as far as Los Angeles. It took 2 hours to drive the first 30 miles ON THE FREEWAY, surrounded by cars crammed with people's possessions, pets, bits of furniture. Wow. I can't imagine leaving my home behind to something like that. I get a lot of hurricanes, but I've never had to evacuate. You stay safe. *hugs*

Thanks - hugs are really nice right now.

This experience feels more important than it probably will end up having been, someday in the future when I can look back. Right now it feels monumental. Like 9/11, maybe. Awful as that was and still it, t was sobering for me to hear that we lose more people to AIDS every day in Africa than we lost on 9/11. This wildfire isn't even in the monumental ballpark. Still. Thanks again :-)
