The night sky in summer - huge post alert!

Ok, so I'm bored and on my way home last night I was star gazing, so I thought I would follow up my previous post and yabber on about some of the things we can see in our night sky at the moment.....

Arf! I'm a bit of a stargazing nerd... it's where the root of my LJ name came from originally, (long and roundabout story there.)

Scorpius is a tricky one to spot in England, especially in a city with all the light pollution. It tends to be so low to the horizon, but when you can get out away from street lamps on a clear summer night with a low view it's quite unmistakable.

Yeah, I miss being at home. I grew up in the Peak District and sitting on the moors star gazing was one of my favourite pastimes.
