It's not and it's fine. LJ just fired a bunch of people from their US office. They're not, like, canceling LJ or anything.

I have no idea, but everyone's very ambiguous posts are freaking me out. No one seems to actually know anything. All I know is that quite a few members of the LJ staff got laid off. That's it. I don't know why we're all interpreting that as LJ dying, but apparently everyone is. I wish I knew for sure so that I could know whether or not to freak out!

I'd heard something along those lines, but I figured that I must be missing something if so many people were freaking out. I guess I was wrong--just the typical internet wank/hysteria? Thanks for the info.

Something like that. There was a rumour going around that it was 28 out of 31 staff or something silly like that.
