I love this idea. A friend of my grandmother had 3 daughters who were 5 to 10 years older than me. She passed on a big stack of their books which were mainly Children’s Press and Seagulls and introduced me to many of the authors I went on to collect. I remember they included Jane Shaw, Monica Edwards, Josephine Elder and several of the Princess books. There was also one of the abridged Oxenhams which I didn’t enjoy at all and which put me off the Abbey Girls for years. We were lucky there were so many books available at pocket money prices when we were young.
