Ooh, that does seem like justified bragging! My collection of Susan, Penny and the Adventure/Holiday books isn't quite as cmplete, but you're making me feel I should try harder to complete it and reread the ones that I've got.
It took me years to find a copy so you can imagine the thrill!
I don't know what those books cost these days. I've never managed to get the Moochers or Northmead books. Susan Pulls the Strings is very Christmassy and cheerful; could be time for a re-read? No Trouble for Susan is fun too, when they volunteer to run a bookshop during the Christmas holidays.
Nothing like finding those rare ones! Or that one that completes a series!
That's a good sugestion, actually. I'm currently reading a Christmas-set murder mystery, but the next thing on my 'to read' pile is not seasonal, so Susan at Christmas sounds like just the thing.

Dear Callmemadam, Thanks for your interesting post. I am Jane Shaw's (Jean Evans) son and I recently wrote an Introduction to Crooked Sixpence. The work has just been republished in facsimile by Girls Gone Bye Publishing company--the third Jane Shaw they have reproduced recently. They do a very careful job and usually include an introduction and a relevant short story. If you are not aware of this publisher, it is well worth getting their catalog. Again, so pleased you are a Jane Shaw fan! Best wishes, Ian M. Evans, Honolulu, Hawaii, USA. email i.m.evans@massey.ac.nz
P.S. that is very definitely my mother's signature and handwriting! #jane shaw #books for girls

Hello! How nice to hear from you and how pleased you must be that people still enjoy your mother's books.
I have quite a few Girls Gone By books but I only buy the ones I don't already have. Yes, they are excellent, with all the extra illustrations and information.
Thank you so much for verifying the signature; that really pleases me. It's a pity it's in a tatty old Children's Press book and not one of the better ones!
