I have been looking forward to the Furrowed Middlebrow releases too (and am pleased not to be the only person to find Few Eggs and No Oranges dull).

Splendid venture, isn't it?

I don't think you could find A Chelsea Concerto dull. My next read will be a book by Rachel Ferguson. I've read one of hers and didn't like it much, so I'll be interested to try another.

Thank you for the lovely review, Barbara, and for the shout-out about the imprint. So glad you felt as enthusiastic about the book as I did!

No problem when I really love something, Scott!
Thank you for discovering excellent books I'd never heard of.

I can barely believe that October is almost here, but I do enjoy the month :)

Too many exclamation marks irritate the hell out of me. There are a couple of people on social media I know who think nothing of ten of them after a statement. Ugh.

The book Chelsea Concerto sounds amazing, I do like WW memoir type reads.

It's my favourite time of year.

Oh, some idiots use an exclamation mark instead of a full stop. Faviell isn't like that.

I found it a terrific read, all the more so because it was all true, and told in such a matter of fact way, as if anyone would have done those brave things.

I'm another praising Dean Street press and Scott for these new books. I have Bewildering Cares to read and review and Chelsea Concerto on order. I'm not sure about Rachel Ferguson though, have only tried one and didn't get on with it.
I have read Few Eggs etc a couple of times and enjoyed it perhaps it's dreary because WWII in London was pretty dreary! ( I'm also prone to using exclamation marks! but only one at a time - sorry!)

Jolly good; I'll look out for your reviews.

Snap on Rachel Ferguson. I've read one and didn't care for it and I have A Footman for the Peacock to read. I'm definitely ordering Faviell's the Dancing Bear.

I don't think I got through FEANO once so I'm full of admiration for your stamina.
