In my garden

This morning, I have been gardening. Nothing to write home about, you may say, but it’s been raining almost non-stop since before Christmas and today we have sun. As usual, I went out to do one small job and ended up tackling a big one. Without changing into gardening clothes, natch, so getting unnecessarily grubby. I've been gardening too - that is, I was going to do gardening and got side-tracked. I moved the chickens into a different house and runs so that they are on clean grass, and they are much happier!

This afternoon I might do something about all the hedge clippings. There again, I might not ...

No snowdrops here, yet! We are famously weeks behind everyone else when it comes to spring flowers.

There are signs of spring here too and I'm wondering if we will get a cold snap to kill off tender buds. I hope not. I have miniature daffs well up and the big ones are pushing through as well. Your catkins and daffs look lovely :)

Colder weather is forecast but I don't think it will hurt early flowers except maybe camellias.

Drought is awful but at the moment I'd be only too glad for you to have some of our rain. Several roads round here are closed by flooding and we're on a hill!
