Ah lovely - this was my childhood edition Barbara. I can picture it on the shelf right next to When We Were Very Young (in the ppbk edition as well) and little hardcovers of the different Flower Fairies. I agree the Tenniel illustrations are my favourite.

Glad to bring back the memories! The copy I read as a child was my mother's, one of those old olive green books.

Isn't it nice? Can't remember where I picked it up but I was pleased to get it.

Lovely cover! It's one of the relatively few books I have multiple copies of, but I don't have this one.

I have at least two of this and probably three of AIW, including my mother's childhood Bessie Pease edition. Oh, and I put it on the Kindle, too!
