Oh some good reads Barbara! Finally feeling up to reading something so this is well-timed - pleurisy in the end eek! I'd like to try the Tricia Ashley one. I so agree with you about Susan Coolidge. Would really fancy a daytrip to the Devon village in In the High Valley seeing as Colorado is a bit far!

Would you consider doing an online book group yourself btw? I for one would be v grateful.

Oh no, poor you, what next? Give us a bell any time you're up to it.

Book group, hmm. I've certainly never considered it and I don't think enough people read what I write. I'm no Cornflower.

I think that lovely bright cover would attract me to the Twelve Days of Christmas book :) The heroine is a Holly too so maybe it's a sign I should read it :)

Hope you are staying cosy warm in this cold weather!

I bet you'd like it.
I haven't felt warm since I got out of bed, in spite of roaring heating and layers of clothing. Hope you're doing better! Hurrah for my computing mitts.

Oddly I have only ever read one Michelle Magorian, but I do think that Goodnight Mister Tom is one of the best books ever, so I really should try some more by her.

Hmm. Parts of it are influenced by Noel Streatfeild's When the Sirens Wailed, a horrible book.
Back Home is a good read, even though I find it hopelessly unrealistic. Like Goodnight Mister Tom, it was made into a television film. The film was not very faithful to the book.
