Nanowrimo 2010 Has Begun!

Gosh! It's THAT time of year again!

Last year Nanowrimo was lost due to other stuff - operations, writing retreats, general OMG business, so I am really pleased to be in a position to do it again. I've been a part of Nano since 2004, and have really loved to see just how big a thing Nanowrimo has become.

I've thrown in perhaps an additional 50 words mostly as an experiment in supporting snappy dialog. It'll be interesting trying to maintain pace without letting the reader lose track of who's saying what. I haven't exactly had much practice doing that in software manuals.

I like the spirit of NaNoWriMo, but it's a bit early for me to make that kind of committment. My goal is to get into the habit of working on The Book every day (even if only a tiny amount before bed), so perhaps I could maintain a counter for the days on which I write, rather than the word count. Does that count a little?

Yes. Everything counts.

While primarily the song and dance is about getting people off their asses and actually writing, I see it as meaning different thing to different people, and what you're doing is definitely within the spirit of the thing!

go you!! amaaaaazing. would you laugh if i said i actually considered nano this year mainly for getting some aca writing done?but here we are too late and i have husband on the other side of the world so not happening. maybe i should just stick with easier goals of trying to actually talk to friends more than twice a year? ;-)
