I'm dreadfully behind. Graduation was wonderful, but I had no time to write for two days because of it. I tried to catch up yesterday and today, but I still need double what I have now to be on track. Hopefully I can catch up tomorrow.

Even though I'm behind, my characters are beginning to come to life. Right now, I have two main characters and a ( Read more... )

That's good news about the characters!

You have plenty of time to catch up. So long as you keep plugging away, you'll make it. I went into the last four days something like 7K words behind (plus what I had to write for each of those four days). I wrote like a fiend and hammered it out, and that was while working, so you should be able to do it. I know you can!

Thanks, CMack. I've already caught up a bit, so I'm not too worry. I've just got to focus and keep setting aside the time to write, write, write.

I find it endlessly fascinating when writers report that their characters write themselves - I really wish mine would do that. I wouldn't worry too much about catching up - you don't graduate every day!

Thanks for the encouragement! I won't graduate until next semester--I was at my friends' ceremony.

It's funny, but I've never experienced the "characters-writing-themselves" thing until now, either. Maybe it's because I'm so busy focusing on word count, it allows the characters to choose their own path, so to speak. But, hey, I'm not complaining!
