Next to the Northern Line, between Hendon Central and Colindale. The sceptic might argue that it was there because of the Police training college. I prefer to assume that the Doctor was forced to land by the time-eddy which brought this lot to 2008:

I hadn't recognised Hendon; when I passed there on the Northern Line the trees were a little less verdant.

I am sure you are right about the time eddy, given the conclusive photographic evidence. Did you see any Spitfires taking off from or landing in the middle of a housing estate? This would further confirm it.
