Oh my god. Laughing so hard.

REASONS WHY THIS FIC IS FUNNY:

1) Every insider bit about the theatre. Dunno if you're in the theatre, but it sounds like you are. Who hasn't had to deal with the ONE DICK who thinks he can direct you? He bosses you about, says your inflection is off, says you should go upstage, not down, until you smash him into a flat and scream "I WILL END YOU".

2) Morgana and her magnificent breasts.

3) "something inappropriately homo about muscled sportsmen in tight shorts."

Thank you! Um,

1 - I'm not in the theatre, my best friend captains_girl is, so therefore I SHOULD BE. She talks about it so incessantly that it'd be impossible not pick some of it up. And I can sympathise - science labs have dicks too. Wankers, also.

2 - They hypnotise me. Not because I particularly like them, but just because they are so magnificent. Maybe it's envy.

3 - Everyone I have ever showed this fic to has laughed out loud at that line. *I* laugh out loud at that line.

*lol*

Hee, Shakespeare and Merlin, awesome! Perfect casting, and I love how they all strong-arm Merlin into talking to Arthur and then get mad at him because he's decided Arthur isn't so bad!

That bit is one of my favourite parts, when Merlin says,

"I'll take this moment to inform you that this is highly unfair and undemocratic and you are all fascist pigs."

Merlin is such an artsy fartsy pushover that he had to play Lysander. The only inconsistency is that Hermia is meant to be really short (as portrayed in the extract in this chapter), so lets pretend that Morgana is tiny without her heels on...

Yeah, I noticed that. If you're talking height only, Gwen might've been a better Hermia, but in all other ways Morgana is better.

This was recced at crack_van and I am very, very glad to have been pushed in its direction. The characters are all in character and this universe is delightful. Arthur being such an imperious know-it-all at the theater and absolutely lovely to Merlin offstage is hilarious. Merlin hasn't turned to the dark side, he's just been charmed by the director's son. It's delightful.

Just found this, and loving it so far. Just one little niggle - Rangers and Celtic are Glasgow teams, and Arthur was in Edinburgh. The question would have been 'Hearts or Hibs', no one in Edinburgh would ever admit to being a Rangers or Celtic fan.

I was not aware of that! I had the wrong and regionist impression that Rangers and Celtic were the only two football teams in Scotland of any note. This is obviously wrong and I apologise for mistake, I'll keep that in mind next time. On the other hand, I'm glad you're enjoying the story so far!
